By now Warner appears to have recognized the value of Karl's work enough to have assigned the most popular fantasy artist of the day, Frank Frazetta, to this book. It was said that a Frazetta cover would guarantee good sales of any fantasy book, regardless of its merits. However, this appears to have been one of Frazetta's plug-in covers, tossed off in idle hours; monster and hero are generic. |
